Christmas Eve Eve+

On December 23, 2015, we threw a crazy awesome Christmas sweater party. I ordered my sweater from Etsy a couple of weeks before. Being the diehard Drake fan that I am, this was only fitting.

My roommate & I initially attempted to make a photo booth wall. We got home & started cutting the tablecloth, hung it on the wall, and realized no matter what we did, it looked cheap and shitty. I was super frustrated, & decided to completely throw the idea out the window, and go with something new. We created a small snack bar with desserts, alcohol, and photo props instead. Overall, it was relatively inexpensive to make, and easy to bring together. We started with a $5 roll of wrapping paper from Target. I tried to find something as simple and tasteful as possible…you can’t go wrong with stripes. We strung lights around the edges to make it a little more festive, and hung a Happy Holidays banner over the top. The banner was from Urban Outfitters, on clearance for $10. We used our photo booth’s white tablecloth ($2) & some decorative holiday paper bulbs ($3) from Party City.

On the Table we had an assortment of yummy food items & candies. We baked vanilla cupcakes with marshmallow frosting in striped cupcake liners, then added a peppermint inside, and sprinkled snow-like sprinkles on top. The champagne flutes were also dipped into the frosting & then coated with gold sprinkles. Two more flutes held crystal rock candy and said “Merry x-mas”. For more candy, we picked up a bag of Christmas colored M&M minis, poured them into clear cups, and added a peppermint striped straw. The only random, non festive item was a yummy buffalo dip we made to snack on. I considered adding red food coloring to make it fit in more aesthetically, but just didn’t.

Bitches came over, yeah we threw a party. -Drake

Despite not having our photo booth come together, everyone still managed to make use of the props. A few glasses of champagne later…..

Everyone had so much fun. It was the first official party we’ve thrown in the house, and I’d definitely say it was a success.
